We keep the ball rolling with a commentary on a movie with the word star in it. Not sure exactly how long we can keep that particular sphere in motion but let’s give it a crack.
This week the MMM team wax lyrical about the Star Trek movie that pretty well impressed us all this year, the originally titled Star Trek. Just Star Trek. No roman numerals in sight with this baby (though if you are keeping score at home we are up to XI).
JJ Abrams takes us on a journey to a galaxy far far… no that is not right. He takes us on a journey slap bang on our own doorstep as he pits the Enterprise crew against the evil Nero (what is it with the obsession with sandal-related names today?).
The MMM team of Trevor, Geoff, Tony and one slightly asleep Gecko take us through a film which will hopefully put Star Trek right back up there.
Star Trek – the movie that proves you can still have your canon and eat it too.
We come to a perhaps temporary conclusion in our journey through the Star Trek universe and come to rest on an episode from the second season of Enterprise – Future Tense.
The Enterprise crew find a small craft drifting in space and are surprised to find it contains a human corpse. More questions arise when both the Suliban and Tholians make claims to the craft.
Geoff, Tony and Peter take you though this episode with enough time conundrums to keep any Trek fan happy.
We continue our Star Trek commentary season with one of the most enjoyable, interesting and just plain fun episodes of Deep Space Nine – Trials and Tribbleations.
Honestly, does the plot even matter? You get the chance to see Sisko and Co head back to the mighty Starship Enterprise captained by James T Kirk for goodness sakes! And through the use of Forest Gump technology our modern day heroes are seamlessly integrated into the footage from the Trouble with Tribbles episode from “classic” Trek.
Tony, Geoff, Peter and David guide you through this glorious celebration of 40 years of Star Trek.

The final part of Best of Both Worlds (cunningly called Best of Both Worlds Part 2) is now available for your downloading pleasure from the team at MMM.
The team has listened to your suggestions on how to release our podcasts and commentaries (it can be described in a nutshell as “release them faster, dammit!”) and brings to you the concluding chapter of this exciting tale, hot on the heels of the release of the first part last Thursday.
The Borg have Picard, and Riker has decided to destroy the Borg cube with his captain still on it. Things look like they are going decidedly pear shaped for our intrepid heroes.
Join the MMM Team of Anthony, Geoff, Trevor and David as we continue our discussion on one of our favourite Star Trek stories of all time.

MMM continues our Star Trek commentary season with a commentary for what is widely regarded as the best Star Trek – The Next Generation has to offer.
Best of Both Worlds part 1 concluded the third season of the massively popular series with the mother of all cliffhangers – will the mighty Borg-ified Picard survive the onslaught of the Starship Enterprise, now helmed by William T Riker?
This episode offers so much to the dedicated and casual viewer alike – space battles unlike we had ever seen before, personal conflict and tension as Commander Riker agonises over leaving the Enterprise for his own command, and the ambitious Commander Shelby, Borg expert, wating in the wings to take Riker’s chair.
Join the MMM team as we look lovingly at this first part of this classic story.
Keep an eye out in a few days for the concluding chapter to this tale.
