What better way to celebrate our yearly look at Star Wars than to give you lucky people even more Star Wars commentaries in the month of November?

Fresh from the 2005 Clone Wars series, the MMM Team decided to tackle some episodes from the new Clone Wars series. We delved back into Season 1 of this superb series and began our journey with one of the episodes that put this fledgling series on the map – Rising Malevolence.

The Jedi are up against the evil Grevious and Count Dooku and a sinister new super-weapon. A ship capable of rendering any vessel inactive with its awesome ion cannon.

Join Trevor, Gecko, Tony and Geoff as we commentate on this exciting episode.

It wouldn’t be November in the MMM Caravan if we didn’t release something to do with Star Wars. It’s a tradition that stretches back many years to the great day of the Star Wars Marathon, where we watched all six Star Wars films in one sitting.

So this month we are proud to bring you Clone Wars – Volume 2. Last year we did Volume 1, so it seemed the sensible thing to do to bring a close to this 2005 animated series set between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith.

Trevor, David, Gecko and Geoff pour over this colourful Star Wars offering and offer our thoughts.

MMM Commentary: Star Wars – Clone Wars, Volume 1

After a few quiet years, 2008 was the time when Star Wars became once more ahem animated In recognition of the Clone Wars film (is it a film?) and TV show MMM turns its eyes to a long time ago in an animation studio far far away: the original Clone Wars (gee that name turns up a lot) series for the Cartoon Network.

In three to five minute bites, the check-shirted One and his acolytes filled in the blanks on the attritic war between the Republic and the Separatists when Anakin wasn’t such a bad guy, IG-88 was still a steel sapling and Obi-Wan was trying out the latest in armour-cape combinations.

Being an MMM Star Wars commentary there is plenty of discussion of the nature of the animation, the hero’s story arc and the logistical importance of the Clone Wars story line. Of course there’s time for topics like: Who does Dooku root for in battle? Why don’t the Jedi just push planets into the Sun and is it racist that the most dangerous jobs always fall to Mace.

Another year, another Star Wars project. Join us.
