Wow, I'm impressed by your dedication.

I commented back when you started this mammoth enterprise, wondering how you would cope with the missing episodes and if you would commentate over recons? I wasn't being entirely serious so I am very pleasantly surprised to see this commentary appear!

It's great to have you guys back and being so prolific.

Dear Fellers:

I am mostly writing to give you some positive feedback: MMM is my favorite group of fan commentators. In particular, I was very happy when you released the final chapter in your LOTR commentaries. Good to have you back again!

Specifically (with regards to this commentary), I am just now about to give it a listen. I find it amazing that with the exception of Iron Man 2, the Marvel B-list heroes have received better film treatments than most of the A-listers (Fantastic 4, Spiderman, etc.). Heck, Thor is more like a C-list superhero! This may be the only instance of entire feature films serving as advertisements for another feature film (The Avengers).

At any rate, keep up the good work, and try not to spend too much effort on Doctor Who. Nothing against the Timelord, but I'm not a big fan...

Welcome back!

I've been checking the site off and on since the abrupt end of MMM in 2010, often wondering what happened and if you'd ever return. Given the disasters that had happened around the same time here in Australia, I'll admit I sometimes feared the worst.

It's awesome to have you guys back, not just for new fun commentaries but to know you're all okay. :)

Not to mention, you're the best there is at this 'alternate commentary' lark, without a doubt... I've tried many others and none even come close to being as much fun, or as interesting.

Again, welcome back, guys! You've been sorely missed.

It's great to hear MMM going back to their roots with commentaries on the original (or 'classic') Doctor Who.

What will you do when you get to the missing stories like Maro Polo? Skip over them or provide commentaries for the recons - that would be a first!

Hey MMM,

Just wanted to pop this comment in and thank you very much for doing this commentary for Close Encounters.

Close Encounters was one of this films I just never really "got". I have dim, dark memories of it after watching it probably when I was 14-15. At the time I thought frankly it was boring. It seemed to take forever to get anywhere, there weren't enough explosions (:)) and that the conclusion was tedious in the extreme.

But listening to your commentary, then going back and watching the film again for the first time in 20 years and it was a different experience.

Thanks to your commentary I am sure my reversal of feelings to this film is due to directors cut we now have available.

I found the film engaging, moved at a great pace, Richard Dreyfuss was absolutely perfect for the role too.

It is so strange how memory cheats... I had memories of it taking a long, long time to get to the scenes with Neary creating the mountain in his lounge room - in the directors cut it comes surprisingly quickly.

Also for some reason I always thought he created a large amount of mash potato to create that masterpiece, and not the trees, dirt and so forth he claimed from his and neighbours yards.

So yeah, thank you guys for doing this one - it has rescued for me what was once a film I never wished to see again to a film I will seek out on Blu ray to own as a part of my collection.

Just a heads-up: The link to the podcast is corrected on this page, but the rss feed page still links to mmm-lotr.mp3. I don't know if this is related, but right now, I can't download the episode through iTunes here in the States.

But, the good news is, I have the podcast, and I'm looking forward to listening!

Thanks, guys!

Congratulations on making such a left-field choice. Although I'd heard the name 'Breaker Morant' before, I've never seen the film. Having listened to the beginning of your commentary, I shall now track down the film. You guys obviously know what you're talking about and I'm now intrigued to see the actual film!

Also, I have to say that I'm really pleased you're back up to four commentators. I find these multi-headed commentaries really enjoyable whereas a double-act can be a bit of a slog sometimes.

Finally ... welcome back!

Welcome back! I almost can't believe you've returned. I've been checking the MMM site periodically over the last 18 months and had just about given up hope.

So what a nice surprise to see you back again. I'm downloading the new podcast, can't wait to hear it. Looking forward to the new commentaries too!
