You know all the standard stuff when you join a forum, don't be rude, don't abuse.
But the main thing is have fun, and post often.
Unfortunately I have had to add this manual registration process to stop spammers. My apologies. I also have had to stop people registering using a GMail address. Sorry to those that use it for proper purposes, but the spammers use it a lot too. Also anyone from a .ru email address won't get through either.
Apart from that, all other posters will get approved very quickly.
